California's Wild Edge: Original Killion Print Show
TOM will present a Slide Lecture on his art and process at the Wildling Museum: Sunday, June 5, 3PM: Free Admission. Killion's "California's Wild Edge" Art Show is traveling to Southern California for the Spring of 2016. Killion's Memorial Day Weekend Open Studio
Tom Killion's next Open Studio event will be Memorial Day Weekend, Saturday-Monday, 11-5 daily at 51 Laurel St., just off SF Drake Blvd. in Inverness Park. All Killion's current original woodcut prints and large-format giclee prints will be available for sale, framed and unframed, along with a selection of rare out-of-print editions and artist's proofs. Visitors can see blocks and progressive proofs demonstrating Killion's complex multi-block color printmaking technique, and they can print their own keepsake print on Killion's proof press. Killion's Marin Landscape Prints will be on display at this annual show benefiting Buckelew Programs mental health services for the Northbay. Killion will give a lecture on his printmaking process on Friday, June 24, 5:30-8PM; the show will be open to the public Sat. & Sun. from 12-5PM. Woodblock Printmaking on the Cylinder Proof Press with Tom Killion
Tom Killion will teach a 2.5 day intensive workshop on using the Vandercook cylinder proof press to print Japanese-style woodblocks, using oil-based inks and the form rollers on the press. Block carving, image planning and multi-color split fountain inking will all be covered, giving students an introduction to Killion's own printmaking techniques.
