Celebrating Western Wilderness
Killion will be showing several High Sierra prints in this show celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Federal Wilderness Act, signed in Sept.4, 1964. Killion's POSTER for the 50th Anniversary of the Wilderness Act will also be for sale. Artist's Reception: Friday, Sept. 5, 5-8PM at the Vallejo Naval & Historical Museum, located at 734 Marin St., Vallejo 94950, 707-643-0077. The US Forest Service and Park Service offices located in Vallejo are sponsoring much of the event, along with various Wilderness and Environmental Organizations. Tom Killion will be speaking at the annual Robinson Jeffers Festival in Carmel, CA. He will have preview examples of his new "Carmel Bay" diptych and excerpts from his forthcoming book "California's Wild Edge." A "Sunset Celebration" on Fri. eve., Oct.3 will be at Tor House; the Festival with speakers on "Jeffers and Wilderness" will be held all day Sat. Oct. 4 in Carmel.
