Mt. Hood - "Things That Come" (Broadside)
Mt. Hood - "Things That Come" (Broadside)
Image Size: 22 x 15.25 inches
First Printed: 1980
Printing History: Handprinted letterpress broadside of William Stafford’s previously unpublished poem, “Things That Come” with a split illustration by Killion. The top panel measures 6x11 and is of Mt. Hood (Oregon) on a stormy winter night, based on an original 1970s sketch. This image of Mt. Hood has never been printed in any other form, and is Killion’s only image of the iconic mountain. The bottom panel is Killion’s print of “Red Mountain Pass” that can be found for sale on this website in its third edition; but the prints on this broadside are the first pulls done from the block. The broadside was published by Two Pears Press (Neal & Candy Coonerty, Santa Cruz) in a limited edition of 200, 63 of which were discovered in the publisher’s archives in 2020. Printed by Richard Bigus, with assistance from Killion, on a handmade Imago sheet with Two Pears watermark. A unique and now ‘historical’ piece of fine printing.
