This view is from above the mouth of Cataract Creek where it empties into Palisade Creek, which can be seen falling several thousand feet along the Golden Staircase section of the John Muir Trail. A gigantic Western White Pine grows on the left side of image, at the upper limit of its elevation range. All in all, the image depicts over 5,000 feet of High Sierra vertical terrain, from the top of Middle Palisade Peak (14,012') to the junction of the two creeks (c.9,000'). The original woodcut print of this image was produced in 2017 in edition of 185 (sold out). This new enlarged format giclee image was created in 2022 in edition of 95, with two sizes. The larger size depicted here, is the edition size sold on this website. (A smaller 22” x 13” edition was also created in a roman numeral edition of 40.
