Western Mountains

In addition to his prints of the High Sierra, Killion has produced images of mountain landscapes from the Cascades, Rockies and Great Basin, and from the deserts of the American Southwest to the islands of the Pacific. The following images highlight a growing body of work that Killion intends to expand in the near future.

Printing History: From a sketch done in March 2018, while ‘Artist in Residence’ at Zion N.P. The view is from the mountainside above Angel Landing rock, with the White Throne cliffs in background. Multiblock reduction cut, 10 color layers (9 on last 50 of edition). Edition of 175 plus 13 artist’s proofs and 2 working proofs. Edition prints still available.

Printing History: [Shown here on "Witches Creek" Broadside] First edition of 2-color print used on broadside printed in edition of 50 with 4 artist's proofs and broadsides lettered A-Z printed by Killion at University of Alabama Library, 1984. State II, in a nominal edition of 95 with darker sky was printed through #23 in 1999. No more of this edition were printed, so it actually was an edition of 23, NOT 95. Sky block for these editions was destroyed. Some of the broadside edition had the type cut-away and were sold as edition prints.
